Challenge

We designed and hosted a diary study with 12 Smart TV owners based on an existing TV companion app in order to identify strategic opportunities for our client’s prototype application.

Approach

Building on insights uncovered through the diarystudy we subsequently engaged each participant in an in-depth interview where we introduced the prototype app and worked with an in-house illustrator to cocreate new design features supportive of user’s ideal experience.

Outcome

The insights and recommendations uncovered by the process were further unpacked and communicated in a one day debrief workshop with the client team. Together we assessed the technical feasibility of the design recommendations and prioritised which new features would be incorporated in the final release.
